Yoga is to be lived…

December 2, 2013

“True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life.
Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived.
Yoga doesn’t care about what you have been; yoga cares about the person you are becoming.”

The ocean is the self…

November 18, 2013

“An asana is not a posture which you assume mechanically.
It involves thought, at the end of which balance is achieved between movement and resistance.
When the mind is controlled and still, what remains is the soul.
The ocean is the self, the waves are the thoughts.
The self is silent, the thoughts make noise.”

Happy, happy, happy…

Oh, I like Happy Baby !

happybaby

We are not going to change the whole world, but we can change ourselves and feel free as birds.
We can be serene even in the midst of calamities and, by our serenity, make others more tranquil. Serenity is contagious.
If we smile at someone, he or she will smile back. And a smile costs nothing.
We should plague everyone with joy.
If we are to die in a minute, why not die happily, laughing?

Swami Satchidananda, The Yoga Sutras (136-137)
